Manual and automated tracking
Keyword Ranking supports both a manual one-off check and automated scheduled tracking. Once automated tracking is on, rankings refresh on the schedule shown for the active site. You can also trigger an on-demand re-check when that action is available.Tips
- Track a healthy mix of branded and non-branded keywords.
- Use tags to group keywords by intent (informational, commercial, transactional). It makes patterns easier to see.
- When a keyword’s URL changes, Cleo notes it — sometimes Google starts ranking a different page for the same keyword, which is itself a signal.
When rankings look off
- All rankings dropped at once: check whether the site was inaccessible, redirected, or blocked recently.
- A keyword suddenly returns no result: the page may have lost indexing. Run Robots / Indexing Check on the URL.
- Position differs from what you see in your own browser: Google personalises results. The ranking shown in Cleo is location-based and not personalised, which is the right number for SEO tracking.
